In Antalya, Turkey, a large solar power plant has been built to provide free energy for local farmers. The region is a crucial hub for fruit and vegetable production for domestic use and exportation. Around 60.000 people will benefit from this scheme that helps farmers to irrigate their areas and to crop their products. Thanks to this support from the municipality, the local farmers do irrigation almost for free. This helps to cut carbon emissions.
