Early this week, eleven people were killed in fights between tribes in Enga Province in Papua New Guinea. According to the media, the incident occurred after two people were found killed. As a retaliation, armed men shot and killed 11 villagers and kidnapped 11 children, who were rescued by the police and soldiers. The causes of the violence are still unknown. The tribal conflict is a sensitive issue and the authorities have asked them to enforce a ceasefire.
