COP 27 is finished and despite the lack of concrete agreements, we have good news. 85 insurers in Africa have pledged to create a tool to provide support to the most vulnerable communities. They will create the African Climate Risk Facility with $14 billion to help African countries to deal with climate disaster risks such as floods and droughts. With this insurance plan, Africa wants to create a local market-based funding tool to help countries to manage their financial risk of climate change.
