Gabon hosts the Africa Climate Week and sets an example of how to preserve the Congo Basin Rainforest. The tropical rainforest in this tiny country is considered the world’s second-largest one after the Amazon. Even though the area was threatened from logging and other illegal activities, Gabon has preserved it through satellite imagery and environment first policies. Between 2010 and 2020 Gabon was able to stop forest loss which represented only 0,1% per year. This allows forests to regenerate.
