At least 43 imprisoners have died in a prison riot in Ecuador. The fight between rival gangs inside a prison in Santo Domingo broke out on Monday. Relatives of imprisoners waited outside the structure to get information about what happened. Wounded prisoners were taken to hospitals for medical assistance. 112 inmates tried to escape the prison, and were captured. The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights has asked the government to take actions and design policies to protect inmates’ rights. Let’s pray for the prisoners and their families.
