In Brazil, around 6000 indigenous people from 176 different groups marched on Wednesday towards the National Congress as part of a 10-day annual protest demanding the protection of Indigenous land and rights. They are pressing Congress not to pass legislation that intends to open the protected lands to commercial mining and agribusiness, which the government is failing to control.
