On June 13th 2022, the indigenous peoples in Ecuador started a protest to ask the government for their rights, the protection of the environment, fuel prices and household prices. For 18 days, the country experienced strikes, and 7 people died. On 30th June, the government accepted the invitation of the indigenous leaders to open and keep a space for dialogue, and accepted 4 requests. Among them is “to stop mining and oil exploitation in the land of the indigenous people”.
