We pray for Mozambique, where 94 people lost their lives following the sinking of a fishing boat carrying people trying to flee the mainland after receiving misinformation about cholera. The boat was not licensed to carry passengers and reports indicate that a tidal wave hit the vessel. The passengers were fleeing due to a lack of clear information about the cholera outbreak, which caused them to panic. Mozambique, one of the world’s poorest countries, has recorded more than 15,000 cases of waterborne diseases and 32 deaths since October.
