Monsoon rains from June to September are known for causing death and destruction in South Asia. The current extreme weather conditions in recent years are worsening the situation. At least 14 people were killed last week in Nepal after floods and landslides hit the country. On July 12, two buses carrying more than 60 people were swept by a landslide into a river in Nepal, with three survivors rescued.
