Let’s pray for peace in Jerusalem. On Tuesday, Israeli police entered Al-Aqsa Mosque where Palestinians united for the Ramadan prayers. According to the Israeli police, they entered to disperse agitators. Following the clashes, rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip. Tensions have been growing at the site amid an overlap of Muslim and Jewish holidays. May love prevail over hate, may God give wisdom and a peaceful heart to stop the violence and understand that we are all brothers and sisters.

We pray for Nigeria, where early this week, gunmen kidnapped eight secondary school students coming from school along with an unknown number of others. Armed gangs in the northwest of the country have carried out violent attacks against villagers, schools and motorists. It is unclear where the students were taken to, but often the kidnappers keep victims in the forest until they receive a ransom. Nigeria’s military has been fighting armed groups like Boko Haram in the northeast, leaving the kidnapping gangs to spread around.
